Introduction

Dr. K.K. Talwar-Padma Bhushan, MBBS, MD (Medicine), DM (Cardiology), is the Chairman of Cardiology Department at Max Super Speciality Hospital-Saket, New Delhi. Before joining Max Healthcare, Dr Talwar was the Chairman of the Medical Council of India (MCI). He has likewise served as chief of the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.

Dr. Talwar finished his MBBS from the Punjabi University, Patiala (1969), and accomplished MD - Medicine (1973) and DM - Cardiology (1976) both from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. He got his propelled preparing in "Electrophysiology" as WHO Senior Research Fellow from University of Gotherburg, Sweden. He joined the PGIMER Faculty (1977) and accordingly joined Faculty, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi (1980). He got to be Professor of Cardiology (1992) and Head of the Department of Cardiology (2002) at AIIMS. Along these lines, he joined as Director, Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology, PGIMER (2004).
